Founded in 1980, our college, Food and Biological Engineering Institute of Hebei University of Technology, has embarked on a remarkable journey that spans nearly four decades. The journey began as part of the Light Industrial Engineering Department within河北轻化工学院 Hebei College of Light Industry. In response to evolving academic landscapes and industry demands, we have undergone several name changes over the years.

In 1996, with the expansion and diversification of our faculty's expertise and research focus, the department was renamed as the Light Industrial Engineering Department within河北科技大学轻工工程系 Hebei University of Technology's College of Light Industry. This transformation allowed for a more nuanced exploration into various aspects of industrial sciences.

By 1998, recognizing the growing importance of biotechnology in our society and industry, we redefined ourselves as the Biological Sciences and Engineering Department within河北科技大学生物科学与工程系 Hebei University of Technology's College of Biotechnology. This move highlighted our commitment to integrating scientific advancements with practical applications for societal benefit.

A significant shift occurred in 2000 when we embraced a broader perspective on the role of engineering and its impact on food production processes.
