The A*STAR Village was the epicenter of innovation on December 9, showcasing more than 50 exhibits and facilitating several insightful panels centered around catalyzing innovation.

SME DAY @ SWITCH HIGHLIGHTS

Ministerial Emphasis:

Dr. Tan See Leng, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Office and Second Minister for Manpower and Trade Industry, underscored the importance of accelerating innovation journeys for Small and Medium Enterprises SMEs to mntn their competitive edge. He highlighted A*STAR's programs such as Tech Depot, Operations Technology Roadmapping, and T-Up, which support SMEs' efforts in this regard.

WINNERS COMMED

Seven researchers who were seconded under the T-Up program to six SMEs were celebrated for their achievements. They played instrumental roles in boosting these companies’ innovation capabilities and competitiveness.

CONFERENCE HIGHLIGHTS

The conference explored Singapore's position as a global innovation hub and the core of its vibrant ecosystem. Collaboration and networking were spotlighted as essential components for building this ecosystem, with A*STAR at the heart.

Panel: Leveraging Robotics Automation

A discussion featuring robotics experts from NUS, Transforma Robotics, Myrmidon Laboratories, Augmentus, and the Director of NTUitive delved into the threats and opportunities brought by automation advancements. The future landscape of robotics and automation was also forecasted.

Panel: Smart Urban Solutions for Sustnable Singapore

Experts from NIPO International, Samwoh Innovation Centre, CoolestSG, Ampotech, and NUS's CERT discussed technological progress in urban solutions focusing on sustnability in energy consumption, waste management, and space creation in smart cities.

Panel: Internationalization of Deep Tech

The panel explored challenges like talent acquisition, cultural differences, regulatory environments, business network connections, global alliances, and overseas partner centers for deep tech companies venturing beyond Singapore.

Panel: Transforming Healthcare Amidst Crisis with Deep Tech
